My story is that over a long period of time I transitioned from a career in Oriental medicine to becoming a full-time artist. The journey, with many twists and turns, started because I loved to draw as a kid. I kind of think of it as missing a sign post or two on the path and finding my way back again. : - )
Along the way I had the good fortune to study in a classical atelier with Juliette Aristides in Seattle. This mentorship was a turning point for me and I’ve never looked back. One reason I enjoy teaching is the chance to pass on some what I’ve learned in Juliette’s atelier and the rich tradition it comes from.
My personal work is inspired by working directly from life, imagination and love for drawing and painting. My goal is to offer personalized instruction that's structured, fun and supportive.
