Adobe Photoshop Part 1

GENERAL

Get started with Adobe Photoshop! Throughout this course you will learn the essential functions of the application and how to edit/manipulate photos. This skill will enable you to touch up photos, add effects, apply custom filters, and even create digital artwork. Receive direct help from an instructor with a small group of folks also beginning their journey with Photoshop, or ask about private lessons if you have a specific project in mind.

The class will take place in the instructor's studio at Milepost 5 Lofts where there's plenty of street parking, nearby bus stops and the MAX. Further instructions on entering the building will be provided 2 days prior to class.

  • Each class is 60 minutes long
  • Maximum of 4 students per lesson
  • Each lesson is held twice a week, covers two sections, then moves on to the next part
  • Participants must bring their own laptop with the application or trial version installed
  • Practice / example files and images will be provided

PART 1

Getting to Know the Work Area (30 minutes)

  • opening files

Basic Photo Correction (30 minutes)

  • understanding image resolution & size
  • adjusting tonal image
  • straightening / cropping
  • color replacement tool
  • adjusting and repairing parts of image
  • using sponge, clone stamp, content-aware, and spot healing tools
  • saving image files
